Beyond The Mic is a project to showcase up and coming solo artists and bands mainly based in Berkshire and London, but also other areas across the UK. We want people to give unsigned or new acts a chance; a chance to be heard, a chance to be recognised and a chance to live their dream of becoming a successful artist.

The Launch

The first event took place on 22nd February at Plug n Play Studios, in Reading! Performing for us we had an amazing, new 3 piece girl group Cinderella Theory, a very talented Scottish singer Andy Knox (along with his band), the next hottest act on the dance music scene, Vogue, a brilliant up and coming male soloist called Chris Townsend, and the Southwest’s very own answer to Fleetwood Mac, HiFlyer. We were also be joined by Reading Evening Post (see article posted in our blog), MAC Photography, Purple Shaker Maker Video Production, and people within the music and event industries. Damon Scott and Paisley Pattenden were our hosts for the evening.

What We Offer...

TO THE ARTISTS: Our main aim is to promote you as much as possible, not just at the gig, but via myspace, online, flyers, word of mouth and to anyone within the industry. If you’ve been chosen to perform at one of our events then we believe in you and your music and want to help make you as successful as you can be. The media, music executives and critics will be invited, so we’re hoping they will attend the gigs to check out the new talent!! We will also do our very best to provide you with promotional material such as photos and video footage to help showcase your talent long after the event has taken place.

TO THE PUBLIC: We offer VARIETY and QUALITY of music. We’re also doing our best to secure a celebrity guest or host at some of the events too, to make it that little extra special and exciting!! Watch this space!

Artists: How To Get In Touch

We welcome nearly all types of music, including DJ’s, apart from screamo stuff. If you are an artist wanting to perform at one of our events, please contact us via myspace or email [email protected] and we will be selecting a suitable variety of performers for the upcoming event.

Also looking for photographers, newspaper reporters, music industry managers, radio stations, TV broadcasters etc to attend each gig! Please get in touch - would love to hear from you!
