Les Natrels! No Gimmicks! No Shit!

About Me

Les Natrels formed in a bedsit in Harlesden a few years ago by guitar-fiddlers James & Euan. A coupla years later Yasmin joined with a bass, and after Jenny started on drums the Les Natrels-sound found a rockier edge without loosing the quirky folk-pop that initially spiralled them to stardom. For something that can only be described as a fearless weed of tunes blooming in the current concrete desert of urban music, Les Natrels needs to be heard and quite possibly seen for their unique melange of musical influences and aspirations to be fully appreciated.
They are everything that saves us from what is so boringly normal. They take us onto a journey, to a place somewhere in the middle of the mid-west of the US of A, that reminds us of rebellious times with a detour around Primrose Hill - while we are standing there, pondering and fumbling with our stiff upper lips, Les Natrels are wading on...
Never seizing to surprise and amaze, their stubborn disregards for any musical trends and current styles is what make them do what they are best at, which they do whilst smiling and cracking jokes to each other and to the listener. This kind of stage performance fits so well into the contradicted world of Les Natrels. You just never know where you have them.
Confused? Well, that is because Les Natrels are not afraid of bringing experiments onto the stage. letting their songs show us the odd angles, even if the result at times might challenge the ear not yet sensitised to Natrel-ism. Mix it all together, turn it upside down, stir and shake it well and it just works in its own odd and beautiful way. If you have the inclination towards a little comfortable discomfort, Les Natrels will make your ears prick up, with their offering of dry wit and ludicrous musical ingenuity.
