sHiThOuSe GrAvYsMoKeRs

Born in Southern California in 1988, sHiThOuSe GrAvYsMoKeRs were originally known as SPITWAD. Later, BORNAD, COFFINBAND, THE COCKROACH PROTECTORS, to mention a few of the names the group has been known by over many years and through a virtual musical evolution. Originally a two-piece, home 4-track project, the GrAvYsMoKeRs nearly broke into the mainstream when the Demo CD highlighted by the singles "Don't Get Specific" and "Pull The Sutures Out" found it's way onto the tour bus of Ween's favorite Bass player who played it non-stop for anyone who dared to listen. In a matter of weeks, the songs from the Demo could be heard on underground radio, remixed by world famous DJ's and spun at the hippest San Francisco Night Clubs and one song, "Lowlands" even found it's way onto a pornographic movie soundtrack... one of the only porn soundtracks to ever get favorable critical reviews by the mainstream music press. These days, the group have isolated themselves in a small A-Frame cabin/Recording Studio in the mountains of Colorado, miles from anything resembling current pop culture and for the time remain content making stranger and stranger recordings which they no longer refer to as songs. The sHiThOuSe GrAvYsMoKeRs call their little masterpieces "Frequency Assembly" or "Audio Intracacies". There are no tours planned, no press releases, and no CD release parties... But every so often (fairly often actually) another collection of recordings surfaces at some college radio station or in some DJ's resource bin.
