We were located at 757 Gold Hill Square (next to City Market) in Woodland Park, Colorado. We had been serving is coffee, tea and cocoas for over 14 yrs. Lorena had been the owner for 10 yrs. We did all our own roasting on premise and used only the best farm crest milk for our espresso drinks.sadly we were repossesed by the land lord after getting behind on the rent due to Lorena breaking her arm in november of 2006. since she worked over 45 hours a week trying to keep the store open during this time by paying payroll meant other bills did NOT get paid.
thanks to all of you who have supported me over this last 11 yrs! because of your loyalty i was able to survive the hayman fire, 911 and the influx of 7 different coffee shops over those years. unfortunatly the 2 big ones on the highway took away too much tourist traffic and without signage on the highway (which i have BEGGED for from my landlord) i simply could not draw people in. the final straw was the $11,000 lost in 2005 due to construction. combined with my broken arm and my divorce i simply could not continue to loose more money esp. since rent and utilities/cost of goods continued to rise.the store is still open as Gold Hill Java and is being run by the Page family (land lord). i managed it for the last month and a half (read= did everything i was doing only finally getting paid.) but it is too painful to see the changes and the customer service that i prided myself on become a thing of the past.
