Powerful, yet intimate, it draws listeners into moments of reflection and contemplation.However, it doesn’t take long to learn that John is also a talented songwriter as well. His music, mostly autobiographical, is a transparent journal that takes listeners by the hand and walks them through moments of love, the quest for truth, and the desire to become better people.Loosely described, Torres is a Contemporary Folk and Pop artist who best fits in the conversation with names like Damien Rice, Joni Mitchell, and Dave Mathews.A Los Angeles Native, John attended UCLA and then spent a few years performing in Musical Theatre productions both in L.A. and N.Y., a few of which garnered national recognition. He has performed in almost every major stadium and arena in the country and has traveled internationally to play as well. He has worked with multi-platinum artists such as Guy Roche and Steve Porcaro, and his voice and music can be heard in both film and television.Currently, John is working on a record that he considers to be a long overdue document of his musical and personal experiences, and the artistic paving for his future. The record is due out on Thanksgiving 2008.
