The Hysterical Injury

Liars Beware

About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4 The Hysterical Injury are a three piece made of video/media artists who share a bug for music.
Our Video for 'Can't Sleep'
Us Live at The Fleece and Firkin in Bristol playing '24 Hour Glass'.Some kind words:
Live"WITH her swinging high ponytail and sparkly scarf, the Hysterical Injury's pretty singer Annie looks more like a Cliftonite student than a rock chick. But the trio produce a squalling guitar racket reminiscent of Babes in Toyland, although unlike those 90s grunge chicks Annie sings rather than screams......somehow her clear sweet vocal can clearly be heard over the thrashing guitars and, in fact, it works very well." Helen Sloan - Evening Post (Bristol)"....The bands talent very quickly becomes apparent. Annie has a sexy and sultry confidence about her as she gently sways her head before exploding with with a burst of intensity and self-assurance. Lush melody to controlled chaos in both music and performance. The band all compliment each other perfectly. Each member pushing the other a little bit further forward. The explosian is inevitable but its as beautiful as the melody preceding it. "24 Hour Glass" is third, a foot-stomping highly charged romp of sexual energy. This girl can scream!!! Waves of noise build until the dust settles and the bass is left alone. The heartbeat after the orgasm.. The 'buffeting psychaedlic' song 'Sympathy Pains' follows. The guitarists ability to create layers of creeping, ethereal soundscapes as well as highly charged distorted outbreaks. Notes bending, writhing and screeching as the drummer holds it all together effortlessly, whether we're going 100 miles an hour or only 10. "Your feeling sympathy pains, arn't you? Another lonely night comes crawling in" We're in the void, trapped between waking and sleeping, dreaming and dying, loving and hating. The echoed guitar builds and builds as t! he vocal "crawling in" disappears into a cacophony of melodic anguish. This was the injury. The next track 'Adam West' was more hysterical. Anthemic with the stomping rhythm of a 1960s factory floor. The packing and packaging of row upon row of Batman merchanise! Who's Adam West? Just another name on 'A List of Ambiguous Human Names' the title given to the next song. Introduced as being "from the point of view of a prime ministers wife'. A speedy kick in the head with a crazy bass and guitar run-down. 'Pastel Face' followed lead by a catchy and somewhat raunchy bass line. "Gonna start loving me when I'm blue...I hate your pastel coloured face. I hate the way that I wish I was you" Annie screams. Hey! Their final song sees the guitar and bass playing off each other and a final scream of "Your way out of line!". Energetic, sexy, melodic and chaotic all at once. Definetly ones to watch!" - Ed Cesar MOLES CLUB REVIEW"So, in spite of lazy writers and their indeterminate reviews, and before I too drag their faces in the dirt of ambiguity, let it be known that The Hysterical Injury are close to the best Bath band that I have ever seen."
