NEW LIVE DVD NOW AVAILABLE:
'...without a doubt one of the most genius one man acts I've seen in ages'. (MOLES CLUB, BATH - www.moles.co.uk)
'Bath based Cabaret Rat is basically Motley Crue boiled down into an angry northern man with a guitar and a sampler...oh and unlike Motley Crue he understands irony, humour and self deprication...fantastic...' (PULP PROMOTIONS)
'...brilliantly curmudgeonly...'. (THE BATH CHRONICLE)
'You're not going to hear a lot of records like this'. (THE-MAG)
'SURF MONKEY' Live - St. James Wine Vaults, Bath, Mar 2007
'Cabaret Rat is a solo artist. He stands there on his own with hardcore, industrial strength backing tracks and his guitar and has more presence and genuine drive than most that grace the Moles stage. Is anyone noticing yet?' (DECODE MAGAZINE - www.decodemedia.com)
"... - Big phat drums and screaming/ shouting vocals. Punked up rawk with a bit of a post Ministry feel, sample-ology, strange dialogue, even a dramatization of Jack and Jill going up the blinking hill...Butthole Surfers fans take note. Also Al Jourgensonisms aplenty, but when was that ever a crime?!!" BUGBEAR PROMOTIONS
......is solo artist Matt Prosac, whom, along with loops, samples and a loud guitar, provides a sound for pumped-up male egos on the slide, and for females with a gift for the perverse.

LIVE REVIEW, MOLES CLUB, BATH, JUNE 2006:
'The undisputable star of the evening was next...cover your ears girls because Mr. Cabaret Rat is gonna give you a lesson you'll never forget! This is the second time I've seen this genius and he's by far one of my favourite local artists. Someone please give this guy a record deal because he is completely unique. Some would say "Oh but he's not politically correct". Who gives a fuck about political correctness! If people are gonna slag off an artist like this for saying exactly what everyone else is thinking then he has won anyway and his point has been made!
Enough ranting...he began with a very simple "Evening" before introducing the first song 'Surf Monkey' dedicated to booze, women, drink, the Ramones, Revolting Cocks and anything else thats ever triggered you off! The track begins with a shout of "I'm a believer!". The song 'Cattle Ranch' was second, being dedicated to right-wing Americans. Somebody should send a copy to Mr. Bush (with the note "This package contains a lethal dose of anthrax" on the front). For those who havn't seen Cabaret Rat he's a tattooed, long haired, one man killing machine who plays guitar and uses genius self-made backing tracks. Everything you don't want your daughter to get involved with and everything she stays up all night dreaming about.
A romantic number about lost love and dedicated to the ladies was third entitled 'Lets Watch Porn'. I think the girls from Futari were blushing as they got sucked into the throbbing pulse of the backing euro pop beat. 'High Class Hooker' was fourth and posed the very important question "How much extra for handcuffs and candlewax?". A celebration of youth was fifth. A beautiful nursery-rhyme to scare the kiddies that bought back all sorts of childhood memories. Jack and Jill going up the hill to fetch a pale of water...lets be honest if Jill had any sense she would have jumped at the chance to have her wicked way when Jack fell down and broke his crown! I'll leave that one for Cabaret Rat to tell you about. He finished his set with a song called 'Brand New Goth' dedicated to a common dislike we both have of emo kids. As the man himself said..."bless them and their little black ways". Every song that I've heard by Cabaret Rat is a work of genius and I'll leave it at that'.
