L.N.U. BAND LIVE......... LATE NIGHT UTENSILS 2007 LIVE!"+ WHO IS VICBENNETT? I was born and raised in Washington, DC, the nations Capitol of the United States of America. Being brought up in a city where between the ages of 16 and 24 the city was known as The Murder Capitol. I started Djing at the age of 16 and begun playing parties for my friends. By the time became I began Djing in clubs in DC. One of the first places I could really say I began to make a name for myself was at Club Retaliation, where a cool French dude named Olivie gave me a chance to spin. I ended up playing there twice a week spinning Hip-Hop-Break Beats and Classic. Before that point Retaliation was know strickly for the wikkedest Reagge and Dance Hall. After a year or so I was asked to do opening night at a spot called Exodus. After that night I was asked to play every night with 2 Djs named Hutchie and Ali. Exodus was known as the hippest spot in 1990-92 downtown Farragut North. I parted ways with the promoter Erick Hilton and went on to play at The VOLT, FIFTH,COLUMN, The Ritz and and many other parties and events in the DC area. I went on to Dj in NYC. It was in this time I hooked up with some cats working on there debut cd Giant Storm (95-97). At that point meeting many other cats I decided to start producing my own music as an Artist as well. My philosophy grew in the the art of music making and the business of music witnessing positive and negative dealings with music folk. In the past I have Djed in Just about every club or caffe in the U Street Adams Morgan corridor. Cats know either as DJ SER-REK or VICBENNETT. If you know DC Hip-Hop and it's emergence in Washington, DC then 90 percent of the time cats that been on the scene in DC can say they met me at one time or another. Sometimes I ask myself why I spent so much of my time and energy spinning records and creating music. The answer is simple. The Art and the LOve of it!I have always maintained a personal love for music and art in general so i guess it is only natural that I focus on depth in my work and work plan. Good music is what I try to create and involve myself with. I like to adapt to different styles of Urban music you could say ............................................................ .................................Currently, I am working on playing out with a 6 piece band in Europe.... I HAVE 4 TUNES UP AS YOU CAN SEE. U CAN DO is Recorded and Produced by Niels Andersen, Lyrics by non other than me (Vic Bennett) I WANT EVERYONE TO CHECK OUT MY NEWEST GROUP PROJECT,,,LATE NIGHT UTENSILS....There are some changes taking place with music and members of this band so I will let everyone now when the new project is finished and ready for people to hear. ........Wah Dem A Try is produced by Alec Burton and lyrics by Mission One and myself (VicBennett). This track is Burning and both alec burton and mission are some real groovy chill people and excellent at what they do musically............... Beat 1 and The Hill Street Blues are Produced, Recorded and Written by non other than myself (VicBennett). This is one of the tracks that will be re recorded for the Vic Bennett Story Release!...which is about 15 tracks of just beats and ripping ryhems produced and recorded for the purpose of showing cats how well rounded and studied I am in my crafts.........solo......................................... .I love working with people, but sometime people can be beneath your mental level and character.................
