About Me

DI is the work of Dan Numbers (guitar, Bass, yelling, programming) and Laurel Numbers (Vox, primary lyricist). Acoustic drum duties in the studio for the Glimmer album were courtesy of Bob Sable.
Their music is a mix of Industrial and Metal with a very decidedly Gothic influence. The ethereal female vocals, shimmering guitar lines and melodic bass draws the listener in, only to slam them back when the music gives way to doom metal guitar riffs and distorted male vocals, underpinned by driving bass, clanking percussion loops and audio samples. Lyrically, The topics deal with the pain of this life from a decidedly spiritual perspective.
Influences are bands such as Circle of Dust, Bauhaus, The Violet Burning, and Living Sacrifice.Their full length Album "Glimmer" (recorded at IHS Studios and mastered by Emily Lazar of The Lodge in NYC) was self released in June 2005 . The 9 songs result in a full hour of music. It has recieved favorable press from such publications as Automata Magazine, and the Goth music reviewer/writer Dr. Raven. At this time, Darkfield Illuminator is in talks with a record label that is in it's developmental stages and hopes to sign with them when they are up and running. They are also working on music for their next album, and have played a couple of those songs during live shows. Darkfield is known for a quality, powerful stage show that includes unique video and lighting and have started gaining a considerable fan base due to their unique style.
