About Me

Official Photographer for Glastonbury Festivals

Do you remember, many lifetimes ago, we said we'd meet again? Well here we are my friend ...Welcome Back!
I am a Photographer: it's not just what I do - it's what I AM! I've spent half this lifetime capturing fleeting moments, slices of the past, glimpses of the 'now' as it becomes 'then' - learning how images can convey subtle messages, raise questions and arouse the emotions. Photography is an art form pregnant with life lessons (microcosmic metaphors, focussed through a lens) and in seeing things from many different angles, one's perspective on life inevitably expands. I think that's why I never wanted to specialise in any particular area of photography, especially the overtly commercial ones: it would be like putting on blinkers! Diversity and Spontaneity are far more important to me - because they open us up to SYNCHRONICITY!
If you'd like to see some of my work, please follow the 'View my: Pics' link on the left.

If you could be where I have been, and all the places in-between; if time allowed another chance, another song, another dance; if we can strip away the veil, our self-made limitations fail - the past becomes another now, without the 'why' or 'when' or 'how'. If you, like me, are on a quest, let black be white and east be west; the dream of life through which you sleep can take you high or plunge you deep, but if you choose to come awake, to seek the difference you can make, then let your spirit truly soar and open wide your psychic door, for on the other side you'll find, that ALL is there... within your mind!
The past is your teacher, the present is your creation, and the future...?
let it be your inspiration!

Help my friend, singer Lucie Diamond, stamp out the misery of landmines! ?

My Interests

I love mystery and magick, alternative realities, philosophy, psychology, photography and FUN! Champion of lost causes, seeker of lost knowledge, discoverer of lost treasures, holder of the half full cup, student of the unknowable and teacher of the unlearnable. Am I a very stupid wise man or a sage who acts the Fool?

I'd like to meet:

My ancient self, just to see how the old fool turns out! (and maybe the younger one, too, to remind him that the most difficult bits of life are where he gets his wisdom from!)

Music:

If music be the food of love - Pig out! Music is my greatest inspiration as a photographer but particulary Rock, in all its diversity: Blues, Psychedelic, Progressive, Punk, Folk. I try to keep an open mind (our eyes and ears are doorways!) so I appreciate music that's challenging, even if I don't 'like' it straight away. Tributes and Covers bands will always have a place in honouring past originality, but never at the expense of new generations of pioneers, whose creativity seeks expression. We don't have to become stuck in what we like, what we're used to, or what we're comfortable with. Unless we open ourselves to new experiences, we'll never fully realise our true potential!

Movies:

Movies are great, but I prefer 'stillies'. I can watch a really good film many times over: either I've got the memory of a goldfish or I'm highly susceptible to visual inspiration! I can't help wondering if all my imagess will one day discover each other and merge their timeless singularities into one big spontaneous surrealist movie.

Television:

Tele (from Greek, meaning 'distant') Vision (from Latin 'videre', to see (can also mean: inspiration, hallucination, prediction)) Funny how we seem to have slightly lost our way with this amazing medium for the sharing of knowledge and wisdom, now often reduced to nothing more than a superficial means of 'killing time'!

Books:

If the written word is food for thought, a good book is nutrition for the mind! I love the visionary spirituality of Richard Bach (Jonathan Livingston Seagull was only the beginning!) and the truly inspired allegory of Philip Pullman's 'Northern Lights' trilogy.Havelok the Dane is an almost forgotten British legend from the early 6th century, and in 1999 I had the great honour of being involved in vital research into this amazing story. This eventually resulted in me finding the original 13th century seal of the town of Grimsby (lost for nearly 100 years!) and the rediscovery of two 'magical' Bluestones connected with the legend. in 2000 we were fortunate to be able to reprint the novel of the same name, originally written by Charles Watts Whistler in 1900 - A Must Read!

Heroes:

A working class hero is something to BE!

In the 1400's a law was set forth that a man was not allowed to beat his wife with a stick no thicker than his thumb. Hence we have "the rule of thumb". Many years ago in Scotland, a new game was inv...
