the mockingbird had been following the cat
all summer
mocking mocking mocking
teasing and cocksure;
the cat crawled under rockers on porches
tail flashing
and said something angry to the mockingbird
which I didn't understand.
yesterday the cat walked calmly up the driveway
with the mockingbird alive in its mouth,
wings fanned, beautiful wings fanned and flopping,
feathers parted like a woman's legs,
and the bird was no longer mocking,
it was asking, it was praying
but the cat
striding down through centuries
would not listen.
I saw it crawl under a yellow car
with the bird
to bargain it to another place.

"Dude Love." This is the opening TitanTron video for wrestler Mick Foley during his Dude Love gimmick. I know that many educated snobs will turn their noses up at this great song. That's fine, because my brain is a powerful psychic drop-kick to your heart, and I am powered by coolness and magical rainbows.
"Everlong" by the Foo Fighters. This is one of the few true examples on film of how dreams work. Also, it references Evil Dead.
"Pretty Girls" by The Kids of Widney High. This is how I feel when I am walking around town and girls are chasing me. I wish I could be more like the Kids of Widney High.
And finally, the capstone to my personal video collection is "Unicorns L.A." by My Barbarian. This song is incredibly inspirational to me.
