Crown the Lost - Blind Faith Loyalty
Almost two years removed from their debut album Reverence Dies Within, Pittsburgh melodic thrash metallers Crown the Lost return with their second full-length, Blind Faith Loyalty, set to be released in the summer of 2008. The culmination of over a years worth of intense songwriting, band turnover and turmoil, and unbridled creativity, Blind Faith Loyalty sees Crown the Lost expand upon its melodic thrash metal template, adding new, exotic layers of extremity, grace, and technicality.
Recorded from January to June with producer/engineer Dave Watson, Blind Faith Loyalty captures Crown the Lost at its most inspired and expansive. Led by singer Chris Renaldi's soaring clean vocal approach, the album's 10 songs traverse down paths ranging from fierce, aggressive numbers ("Defame the Hypocrites," "Drawing the Parallel") to catchy, song-oriented tunes ("Bound to Wrath," "Impose Your Will") all the way to towering, multi-faceted thrash metal workouts ("Finality," "Symbiotic").
Blind Faith Loyalty showcases Crown the Lost's ability to create striking, memorable songs in the confines of sometimes technical and extreme thrash metal. When combined with Renaldi's emergence as a veritable classic metal singer, the band's songs take on a whole new form, one that dismisses any preconceived notion of metal’s stagnation.
Lauded as “musically accomplished and eminently memorable†and “one of thrash metal’s outstanding new groups,†Crown the Lost will be releasing two songs from Blind Faith Loyalty prior to its as-yet unscheduled release. Additionally, the band will be pursuing a proper label, distribution, and management deal in the new year. Furthermore, the band will be playing a spate of live shows around the Pittsburgh area and surrounding territories for the bulk of 2008 and beyond.
