the SOURCE were formed in the winter of 2007 with the sole purpose of satisfying their need to play modern and extreme thrash metal. Their music is a direct reference to their sources and earliest musical influences, that is 80’s thrash and bands such as SLAYER, EXODUS, POSSESSED & KREATOR whilst at the same time keeping in touch with the contemporary face of the idiom as this is expressed by bands such as theHAUNTED and DEW-SCENTED while parallely incorporating the European melodic sense of CARCASS and AT THE GATES. Speed, melody, heaviness, shredding but also a focus on mature songwriting. the SOURCE are accomplishing this ambitious and extreme sonic combination by means of utilizing their multi-year concert, recording and label experience in Greece and abroad. During this period they have finished the recording of the material for their debut album and are scheduling their next live shows...THESOURCE
