Brought up in the gorbals in glasgow's southside minutes walk from the merchant city (glasgow's city centre) on the banks of the river clyde. born in to an irish imigrant family from donegal,where i spent alot of my chidhood going back and forward to at every oppertunity i could get. at an early age i always had music around me whether it was something i liked or not it was there. it could be irish country, american country, ink spots, the beatles, bay city rollers, mark bolan, led zeplin, black sabbath, christy moore, the dubliners, dean martin, johnny cash (change from a condom machine), frank sinatra, joseph locke, elvis, clannad, michael jackson, prince, fleetwood mac, gil scott heron... i could go on... that's why i think i can listen to nearly anything to see where it can take my mood. the bottom line is i love music and even more so when that elusive one or two individuals or bands turn up once in a blue moon ! that is why i would like to help aspiring artists musicians get their music and songs listened to. because my philosophy is there should be more than one or two great artists/musicians being born once in a blue moon. i would like the modern public to open up to a lot of differrent music and not just one style inparticular on their own personal level. open up your soul ! like good food you can enjoy good music with a fine wine or a beer, but at least give it a try, and don't be found wanting when asked about it. believe me boys and girls music is an education that should be compulsary at school and properly taught and not put accross as a second hand study as it was in my school. it should take precidence over the language classes as music is a lanuage of it's own and it talks to everyone. if you want to learn a language buy fuck'n linguaphone or go to night school.music moves you to tears, it fills you with joy, it tells a story, it reminds you of good times and bad, it makes you dance, it makes you think, can you imagine your favourite movies with out it ? it has been with us since the begining of our time, whether it be sonar clicking dolphins, whales singing or cave men banging the drum, they all penetrate your body and soul. we all need to feel vibrations after all that'a what we are ! it is a medicine/tonic that you don't have to be ill to take. so get it down your neck and round your ears !to not want it i guess your myspace freinds would read along the lines of....ted bundy, peter sutcliff, harold shipman, fred west, george bush senior, george bush junior, john wayne gasey, and simon cowell to name but a few mass murderers and serial killers.now you see what not having music in your life can do to your soul ! ? i myself help co manage and promote a band from glasgow/scotland called " THE MERCHANTS " whom i feel the sex pistols and the pogues would love to back up ! they play PUNK/SKA/ROCK and ARE THE BEST LIVE ACT IN GLASGOW RIGHT NOW in a city that is ouzing in talent. check them out for yourselves ? they have played BARROWLAND (GLASGOW), KING TUTS (GLASGOW), GALTIMORE (LONDON)supporting THE FALL, THE FERRY (GLASGOW), BARFLY (GLASGOW), A.B.C. (GLASGOW), CAPITOL (GLASGOW), PIVO PIVO (GLASGOW) playing along side the likes of THE FRATELLIES, THE VIEW, ALPHABEAT, LUVA ANNA, THE RONNELLS ect... THE MERCHANTS will now once again head to LONDON to play with a couple of gigs with the ALABAMA 3 in JAM (BRIXTON)on 29th Feb 2008 and DIRTY SOUTH (LEWISHAM) 1ST Mar 2008. after that they will head to ALAN MAGEE'S DEATH DISCO @ NOTTINGHILL ARTS CENTRE 16th Apr 2008. then they will support STIFF LITTLE FINGERS @ BARROWLAND (GLASGOW) 17th Apr 2008, the next night they are off to WHISTLE BINKIES (EDINBURGH) 18th Apr 2008, and now off they trot all the way up to to CAFE DRUMMONDS (ABERDEEN) 19th Apr 2008, ahhh...... the home coming to CAPITOL (GLASGOW) 20th Apr 2008.
