I Have Enjoyed Level 42 Music For A Long Time As Many Lovers Of Great Music Have...

...In a time long, long ago,I discovered "Something About You" on MTV. I really liked the sound and the crazy guy in the ridiculous 'yellow-plaid suit'. I couldn't leave it atthat so I started to look for more Level 42 music. Found "World Machine" with no problem. Thought I had found the beginning of a sensational 'new' group. Yea..well, theseguys had been doing great music for years in Europe long before this and I wanted to hear more. It was pre-Internet days so networking was long, slow and hard to do. Madelots of phone calls half way around the planet, talked to lots of people (in the UK mainly), stalked every 'out-of-the way' record shop in California for imported music. It was slimpickens for sure. I was amazed at how much music had been released in Europe and just how hugely poplular Level 42 really was there. There were so many tours, liveperformances, TV spots and press releases...cool shirts and all the neat stuff fans thrive on. Promotion was very well done and in a big way in Europe. I figured this was thekey for success in the United States and was yet to come. For whatever reason, it didn't really happen here. When "Hot Water", "Leaving Me Now", "Lessons In Love", "Running In The Family"and "Children Say" were released in the States, air play didn't seem to be what is should have been. Meanwhile, I was gathering a respectable collection of Level 42music...for an American anyway. The majority coming from record shops and helpful Level42 fans in the UK. The more I heard, the more I was convinced that the USAneeded to REALLY hear Level 42. I so wanted them to be as huge here as they were in Europe. Their 'pop' releases were great but there was a jazz/funk fusion side(actually their roots) of Level 42 that needed to be heard. So back to 'old-fashioned' networking. Phone calls to their record company and management, calls to radiostations State-side...and on and on. Contact with the co-producer of Rock Over London was so helpful. She was super! It was going pretty good getting some radio stationsset up to air ROL. It was going to be great. Americans were going to hear "Love Games" and lots of other Level 42 music not released here. Meanwhile, I thought if I gathered enough 'fan' information to form a petition kind of thing and were to present it to the powers that be, they would see there was good reasonto up the promotion machine a notch or two. Friends placed my contact information in magazine ads and spread the word that I was forming a Level 42 fan club USA...andwhy. It's tough to imagine how word ever got around before the World Wide Web, but it did. I received soooo much fan mail for Level 42. Not just from the United States butfrom other countries that felt the need for more Level 42 as well. It was looking so good. Meanwhile the meanwhile, Level 42 was touring my end of the world. Couldn't let thatget past me. By then, my family really liked Level 42 music too...still do...so off we went to see Level 42. We saw several shows. They put on an outstanding live show!!! Each member of Level 42, old and new, are talented artistes and amazing performers. We had the pleasure of meeting Mark King and Mike Lindup. Super people. Well, everything happened at once. Better said, everything ended at once. Level 42 didn't return to the States. No more releases. The ball dropped. The machine stopped. The purpose for all the contacts become a mute point. So here I am with 'My Space' sharing my ever favorite Level 42 music! ("Something About You" 'STILL' gets air play)...All the best to Level 42 and their continued success!!!

About me...
Well, it would take more than what a few lines here could even begin to tell. I am a lifetime of work and creativity...and since I am still alive and kickin...I'm continually in progress. To know who I am, up to this point, I suppose one would have to know me in the real world.
I am multi-faceted in the things I enjoy, the things I do and who I am. "People are who they are, first and foremost. What they are is a matter of circumstance"
...~*C*~
I am passionate about the things I do...and what I believe. I tend to go to great lengths for family and friends...even people I don't really know. Often times extending myself past reasonable limits. I enjoy doing things for others, however, I will travel a 'one way road' just so long.
I am honest and sincere. I prefer to believe the same in others...until proven otherwise. I am forgiving, however...I believe in the philosophy of "fool me once...shame on you...fool me twice...shame on me" ...end of story. "Kindness and sincerity, when used selectively for self interest...falls short of value and true meaning...ultimately being the absence of that which is proclaimed."
...~*C*~
I am tender-hearted and compassionate. I hurt for the sufferings of this world. The cruelties and unkindness to animals, people or whatever, will bring me to tears.
I am strong. I raised my son as a single parent while working and earning a degree in Science.
I am somewhat of a non-conformist. I was a home schooling parent at a time when it was not en Vogue...with certainly no help from the powers that be. More times than not, I battled the establishment in order follow my convictions.
I am strong in my convictions...but I am open-minded to other's opinions and ideas. I love food for thought. I believe objectivity is how we grow spiritual, intellectually and artistically. I enjoy a good intellectual conversation...or just being silly and full of nonsense.
I am creative. I love the creativity of others. "Creativity...
...is a journey
with a path uncertain
it's destination unknown
...until it arrives."
...~*C*~
I have an analytical nature...so I enjoy facts and the world of science. Atomic Theory is fascinating!
But at the same time, I am whimsical and a hopeless romantic.
I adore fantasy...and the endless boundaries of imagination
Depending on my mood, and what's on the agenda...I am prim and proper...or, just wild and crazy...(well, not exactly *wild*...but crazy, yes ;-)
I enjoy companionship...but also, I am comfortable with my solitude.
I believe in God and Jesus Christ. I know that all things, good and bad, happen for a reason. Although I don't always understand the horrors of mortal existence, I have Faith in God's omnipotence.

In astrological terms (which I personally don't subscribe)...I am a true Aquarius with a splash of Pisces....(defending, of course, on which definition is referenced ;-) ) ...and that's about a thimble's worth about me ;-) Oh yeah...I LOVE my computer!!!
Aside from lurking Big Brother...I so enjoy the opportunity to reach the world beyond my own via the World Wide Web.
Any threat of taking my computer from me would result in complete and utter madness!!!

I Love The Victorian Era

*I LOVE THE WARMTH OF CHRISTMAS* ...for what it is intended...and not so much for the commercial aspect that it has become...

I Love Snow For The Holidays

...and the wonder and surprise of children that make the holidays special.

I enjoy Collecting Vintage Postcards...(pre-1920's)From Europe(particularly France, Belgium, Germany & England...
*I Love the Ocean*

...and the mysteries of the deep...I Love Horses...especially "Friesian"...they are Magnificent animals...

I adore my Bunny Rabbit "Dobie"...
He is the sweetest little guy...soon to be 6 years old!

I love all animals...!!!
Want this badge?
I Love Gardening......and my Secret GardenI love working with Interior Design...
and
Fine Art "The Fisherman and the Syren" c.1856-1858
Sir Frederick Leighton I enjoy working with my Victorian business...
Woodworking & Building "Things"...
Tennis, Hockey...
Skiing in France with Jean-Claude Keely (...I Wish!!!)
Sewing & All Kinds of Needlework...
Cooking...particularly messing around, coming up with new concoctions.
Rarely do I follow a recipe to the letter! Oh, but what yummy surprises ;-) Bon Appetite!
I have so many interests...more than I can do in one life-time.
I am never, ever bored.

I LOVE LISTENING TO GOOD MUSIC...

...my purpose for being at MySpace
