About Me

Long gone are the good ole days of staying up tripping on gel acid I got straight from the Haight Ashbury in the '80's and '90's. So are the good ole days of "partying" ! The "fun" got out of control and I had to surrender to a different higher power. I know, it's a cliche' IF I CAN DO IT, SO CAN YOU !! KEEP IT SIMPLE, AND JUST DON'T USE TODAY. That works for ME. Now, I have a better life than I ever thought possible !!I am just a regular guy who plays bass, and at one time pursued a career in music, but I eventually had to get a "real job". I still continue to play on a daily basis, and I try to play with different local musicians as often as my schedule allows. Once you get the music bug, that's it ! I have been playing bass for over twenty years, and fusion/progressive rock is my favorite style. It's fun, challenging, and is a great creative outlet. STEVE DEVANEY of San Rafael, CA is the single most biggest influence of my bass playing. I met him in the 1980's. My favorite bassists are Mark King, Geddy Lee, Stanley Clarke, Jimmy Johnson, and Jaco . Rudy Sarzo, Geezer Butler, Steve Harris, and Jon Taylor were early inluences on my style. I have a solid rock foundation, and my four favorites have opened creative doors for me over the last two decades. I play slap style mostly, and I'm heavily influenced by the brilliant playing of Mark King, Stanley Clarke, and Geddy Lee. I play through an SWR SM400s, which is a 500w stereo head, when bi-amped. It's CRYSTAL CLEAR sounding, and it really cuts through in my band situation. I really love the sound I get ! I still use my Trace Elliot AH250SMX, too !! I love the versality of Trace Elliot amps, and have been using them for more than 20 years. I use DR Marcus Miller strings.
