About Me

FEEDING THE FIRE"Follow your mind down the rabbit hole, where Feeding the Fire fashions discursive prog symphonies of shifting tempos and vertiginous dynamic shifts. The rhythm section provides the bulwark behind singer/ keyboardist Ken Cannon's arch vocals and the music's wavering intensity. Start the new year in a tizzy, perhaps? Also, 3 Dollar Hostage and two DJs at 9 p.m." —Chris Parker ////////////////////// ///////////////////// Feeding the FireNaked to the Invisible Eye(self-released)"Naked to the Invisible Eye,the three-track debut EP from Chapel Hill quartet Feeding the Fire, is big on scope. Over the course of 15 minutes, the band takes modern rock's fuzzed guitars and emphatic rhythms on a Joy Division-meets-Yes tailspin. The band's ambition is impressive enough, the eight or more phases of the six-minute "Chupacabra" marked by complex rhythmic shifts, zigging from distorted Barre-chord pathos to serpentine, arpeggiated meditations, all through well-developed textures."--Grayson Currin, Independent Weekly, Chapel Hill///////// ///////// "Not everyone is going to like what I do, and that's something that i can accept; if everyone liked what I did, I probably wouldn't be playing anything of depth."-Joshua Redman..

Sounds Like: we're four musicians who want to write good songs, each containing it's own unique flare. we make it a conscious effort not to use preformulated arrangements and to look at each song from a completely different angle. we generally build our songs around moods and feelings rather than piecing parts together. we also do our best to avoid being pidgeon-holed into any specific genres, which also makes it very difficult for some people to grasp our concepts. as musicians, we all constantly challenge ourselves and each other to be better at our instruments. we are not lazy songwriters by any means. months of planning and preparation go into each song before the audience ever hears it.
