8088 was born near a campfire in Conway, Arkansas several years ago....
It has always been our opinion that art and business were two things that do not really mix well. In our experience, one ultimately has to sacrifice too much of itself for the other. Therefore, we are trying to devise new methods of sustaining our lives and continuing to convey those ideas that undermine our personalities and cause us to choose creation instead of devastation. We have chosen to continue to make tangible media releases providing the costs of which allow to do so (though they have not much in recent days). All of us enjoy creating, and we hope that we can extend our efforts to you and encourage and support your creations as much as you encourage ours. If we are able to do so, then we can collectively transcend the limiting notions on what it means to create art in this society and create something as a society. We would like 8088 not just stand as a collective of artists, but as something completely outside of the music-industrial complex that would allow anyone to create anything and make it available to everyone.
