About Me

Hello!We're The Pretty Route and we are from various places in the South-East of the UK. We first played together as The Treacles but after several line-up changes we changed our name to The Pretty Route and have been together with this current line-up since September 2007.We met in that most unlikely of places, transgender internet forums, perhaps better suited to discuss the finer points of high-heels or overseas surgeons than the in's and outs of playing music, but yeah... It's turned out nice again!Our name came from a dialogue between Adrian Edmonson and Peter Richardson in the 1985 made-for-TV movie 'The Supergrass.' Edmondson's character explains to Richardson's that to avoid falling asleep at the wheel he prefers to go 'the pretty route' rather than on the motorway...
