Roller Dodgeball

I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Roller Dodgeball is a new game created by skaters currently active in Roller DERBY. Note that RollerDodgeball.org is not affiliated with the WFTDA (Women's Flat track Derby Association) even though we have lots of friends there. We think Roller Dodgeball will be a fun game that will appeal to skaters of all ages, both men and women. The game uses soft foam balls (like Nerf brand) that will not hurt if you get hit. And there is no contact between opponents in this version of Dodgeball so it's not as dangerous as blocking and hits during a Roller Derby bout.
Dodgeball is by no means intended to replace Derby. However it can certainly be played between derby-bouts or during practice sessions. Dodgeball is intended to be non-stop action (no breaks, no timeouts) so it provides a great workout. Playing the game will help less experienced skaters learn to change direction, start and stop, improve balance and increase endurance. Not just for the ladies - finally male derby refs can join in a friendly game as well and the women can bombard them without risk of a trip to the penalty box!

So far we found two online stores for the balls we tested. These are great. Sold as a package of six balls, each ball is a different color making it easy to keep track of who threw which one. Try it with Friends:
The easiest way to let your skating friends know you want to try a game of Roller Dodgeball is join Let's Play Roller Dodgeball . Then you can send your own invitations to MySpace friends. Start spreading the word!

My Interests

Anything on skates. We like Roller Derby, Speed Skating, and Jam Skating just to name a few. Quads or Inlines are both fine.

I'd like to meet:

Any and All Skaters: Derby Girls, Refs, Jam Skaters, Speed Skaters and anyone else who wants to try something different and fun on skates. Indoor or outdoor, Quads AND inline (roller blade) skates are all welcome here. We would love to add Skating Rinks across the USA and other countries to our list of friends as well. If you have another Website, be sure to check ours: RollerDodgeball.ORG . Let us know if you want a link exchange.
