Remember you can vote, Once a day, Everyday, until Feb 29th at http://www.songwritingcompetition.com/PVWelcome2007.htmAnd for those of you that missed the news the first time, Carlitos is a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition. He was picked from over 15,000 entries in the category of World Music.and for a little extra info read on..."Biography of a Supplication" The feeling behind "Mi Lelolai A Mi Yaweh" Carlos Olmeda © 2007 BellaNovaMusicWe thought everyone might enjoy reading a little background on the song itself.Carlos wrote the song after watching the movie "Blood Diamond". He was imagining how painful and lonely it must be for child warriors to come home after being forced to kill friends, family and neighbors. The question begs, does the child every really come home? The chorus is actually in Spanish! The reason it sounds African is that (many people don't know this) much of Spanish is directly related to Northern African as well as Arabic.Translated from Puerto Rican Spanish, it means: "A little song of love for my God, Dear God please hear your little song of Love. Dear God please accept your little song of Love, I am coming home. Embrace me, embrace me...."I love underscoring the relationship between all languages (people) in my music whenever I'm able to." - Carlitos Peace, Love, Hope & Happiness,Bella Nova Music & Carlitos
