LOOKING FOR ORGANIZERS
We had a blast putting 2007 together but now Ladyfest South needs you. The three organizers are retiring to their own careers and lives. If you have the heart, passion, and stamina to put together this festival it's all yours, just drop us a comment or message and we'll pass it on to you. FYI: Organizing something like this is not for the faint of heart. It is very much worth all the hard work you will have to put into it.
Ladyfest South is a non-profit, Southern-based, four-day festival that showcases, celebrates, and promotes the artistic, organizational, and political talents of women in order to raise money for social service projects that assist women. Ladyfest South occurred in 2002, 2004, and 2007; and benefited organizations such as Project Safe in Athens, Georgia; Refuge House in Tallahassee, Florida; DeKalb Rape Crisis Center; Women's Resource Center to End Domestic Violence; Youth Pride in Atlanta, Rock n Roll Camp for Girls, and Fund for Southern Communities. Featuring talented women from diverse backgrounds, Ladyfest South includes live music, spoken word, theatre performances, visual art exhibits, films, workshops, and more. It is an empowering endeavor built upon a solid foundation of activism and education mixed with a little entertainment and fun.
Volunteer-driven and organized by women, Ladyfest South welcomes everyone-of all ages, genders, backgrounds and communities- to attend and participate.
