Rhythm of My Essences mission is to promote and preserve the creative art of Spoken Word as an instrument to enrich the mind as well as nourish the spirit. Our emphasis on Spoken Word is based on our dedication to building and strengthening communities, providing a deeper understanding with appreciation of values and cultures, and challenging the mind while encouraging creative thinking. In pursing this mission, we aim to:
**Deliver and support artists through diverse platforms that encourage creative expression and critical thinking while providing entertainment,
**Create and Collaborate to provide unique events and projects to increase and maintain audience appreciation in Spoken Word and Performance Poetry,
**Maintain a commitment to artists that include projects to cultivate and strengthen talent and multiple avenues of promotion and exposure,
**Produce and distribute products through multiple outlets to increase the diversity and availability of poetry and spoken word.
Hello Everyone!! I'm Michelle owner of Rhythm of My Essence (ROME). I had a list of all this stuff I want to do, but it changes so frequently. So my goal is to change the game as we know it!!! My first change is moving from the focus on "Spoken Word" to "Storytelling"! Details to follow, so come back often!!!!
One Nation Under The Soul Shack was born during NYC's hot summer months in 2006 when Pamela & Detrel were comparing their calendar of planned outdoor music events. Together, they felt they could provide opportunities for some of the dazzling independent artists that seemed to be emerging from the core of NY's apple! They weren't mistaken! To their credit, they've hosted four successful listening parties at Vanel's (East Village)! Check them out!!!!
