About Me

Also available on iTunes:I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace) The man affectionately known to many simply as “Tru” has always had an attraction to the written and spoken word. From his early days in his native Jersey City, NJ, reciting nursery rhymes as a toddler, he has shown a love for rhyme and syncopation. This is evident in his writing today, which combines rhyme flows that draw comparisons to Nas and Rakim, powerful messages that conjure up thoughts of KRS-ONE, and loving, sensual expressions that put you in the mood of the Isley Brothers and Stevie Wonder, all who are strong musical influences. Unable to be categorized in one particular style, Tru is just a writer. Whatever comes into his mind and heart is what comes out in his words. Whether it’s social, economical, political, sexual, or philosophical, Tru writes what he feels at the moment. What results is a vivid picture with words that put you right in the middle of the action, with each line taking you on a journey that has you eagerly anticipating where you will go next. Currently Tru has an a capella ep entitled "Welcome to Tru-topia" and is working on a poetry book and a full length music cd, both sharing the title “Ins-Tru-Mentals”, which he is producing himself as well as tracks for other artists such as the sultry, soulful Koffee with her soon to be released "Miss Georgia" album (www.myspace.com/missgeorgiaalbum). Tru is on his way to fulfilling his destiny and answering his tru(e) calling which is blessing the masses with positive messages and heartfelt rhythms and grooves to help them cope with life. The end of performing "Takin It Back" at CenciPerforming "My Sistas", "One Wish" and "Elevation" at Cenci
