Band Members: ...... Yetunde Born Yetunde Orungbemi (Oroongbemi) in Nigeria and the third child of diplomats, Yetunde began traveling the world at an early age.
From Amsterdam to Indonesia, she soaked up the many wonderful cultures of the world.
This exposure developed her sensitivity to the joys and pains of all people as well as her love for language.
It was while attending the Ghandi Memorial International School that she would fall in love with music.
There, she was exposed to the western classics as well as the local music.
Her first instrument was the Angklung, a native Indonesian instrument.
Since then, she has picked up the African drums, tongue piano, thumb piano, harp, xylophone and finally what most of her American fans know her for, the guitar.

Yetunde moved to the US in 1998 to attend school.
After an arduous experience of trying to fit-in as a high school student in a new culture and leaving behind all the perks of a diplomatic life, she was able to find herself through music.

It was while on this journey of self-awareness that Yetunde would be given the name Blackened Light.
Without any money, manager or record label, the ancestors would provide her with her first CD titled, Thoughts on CD.
On this CD her melodic melodies were written in Yoruba, English and Arabic. Within a few months time she would go on to sell over 500 of these CD’s independently while performing at various Open Mics and showcases in the Atlanta area.
The honesty of her words and the uniqueness of her voice would take her to the studios of local producers needing the right talent to give their productions an opportunity.
It was through the bartering of vocals for tracks that her second CD, B. Light would emerge.

B. Light would become a compilation of all of her experiences.
With vocal acrobatics, Yetunde transitions between acoustics, spoken word, African vibrations and hip-hop.
After becoming a staple in the local Atlanta music scene and performing in various festivals along the East Coast, Yetunde is poised to become a national and international star.
