IF YOU'RE IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA, PLEASE SUPPORT THIS UPCOMING CONCERT
This is a benefit concert for our old friend and former Uncle Rainbow lead vocalist, Richard Oates. Of course all these wonderful people will be playing (see poster). I will have the amazing Eva Scow with me on mandolin. Historic CREST THEATRE in Sacramento, June 3rd. Don't miss it. Tickets on sale now. Tickets are $30 general admission and $100 special donor seating (reception and goodies included) and are available at Tickets.com.Bourgeois Tagg and its precursor band, Uncle Rainbow, are reuniting for the first time on June 3rd, 2008, at the Crest Theatre in Sacramento, Ca., for a concert to benefit former Uncle Rainbow lead singer Richard Oates. Oates is desperately in need of a liver transplant and over forty musicians and technical crew have answered the call to offer their services to aid their friend. Also appearing that evening will be longtime friends Charlie Peacock, Roger Smith, and the 77s. Tickets are $30 general admission and $100 special donor seating (reception and goodies included) and are available at Tickets.com. This will never happen again (God willing) so this is a once-in-a-generation event. If you are unable to make the concert, but would like to contribute to Richard's fund please visit this website: The Oates Fund.

My Interests

We recently hosted an artist retreat at our home The Art House in Nashville, TN. See mad crib below: . . . and some pics of artists that attended and combined merriment and study as well as any people I've ever met. Tala Strauss, Anna Gilbert, Jennifer Lucrezio, MacKenzie Mauzy, Chico DiCicco, Becky Filip, and Jacob Wick.Jordan Lawhead, MacKenzie, Anna, and Joseph LeMay

I'd like to meet:

N.T. Wright, Wendell Berry, and musicians, songwriters, and artists with a passion for music, curious, eager for life.

Music:

Very happy that after a gazillion requests over the years, West Coast Diaries Vol. II is being rereleased digitally in a remixed, remastered form. We don't have the exact date yet but it will be in 2008 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of my ONLY all acoustic recording. Still trying to determine whether it needs to come out on CD or if digital will be enough -- give me some feedback. It features The Charlie Peacock Trio: Jimmy Abegg, Vince Ebo, and myself with special guest Roger Smith on one song. Here's a pic of the three of us when youth and beauty were still within our grasp.Don't forget to check out the Classic Covers project. See top friends to visit and listen.

Television:

On hiatus, will watch reruns of The Office on my laptop for summer viewing.

Heroes:

ONE Vote '08 is an unprecedented, non-partisan campaign to make global health and extreme poverty foreign policy priorities in the 2008 presidential election. The next president will take office in a time of great hope: there are effective and affordable solutions that save lives. AIDS drugs can now cost as little as $1 a day. A $5 bed net can keep a child from dying from a mosquito bite. With the force of more than 2 million members from all 50 states and a coalition of more than 100 non-profit, religious and charitable groups, ONE Vote '08 will educate and mobilize voters to ensure that the next American president is committed to using "smart" power to end global poverty and keep America strong.Get involved at http://www.ONEvote08.org
