About Me

Thanks for stopping by!
I am a singer/songwriter, self-taught and play piano by ear! I like watching people and think mannerisms are very interesting! I look at folks and think about where they are going, what they are thinking and where they've been! I have so many invented stories in my head that writing music is a great way to let it all out! As the lyrics to my song "Greatest Story" goes... People say I'm a story-teller!
I grew up listening to the music and ministry of Keith Green (see YouTube video below) and Last Days Ministry! Not only was he a wonderful storyteller and musician, but he lived out his Faith.
On Tour Now!
In the summer of 2007, I entered my song "Breathe" in a songwriter's contest and the song placed as the title track for a compilation CD released in July 2007. 13 artists were featured on the recording and several of us are working together in 2008 to play our songs LIVE at local venues. SONG REVIEWS:
RE: "Mighty Man"
"Mighty Man is Mighty Strong!" -Sam McClain (Blues Recording Artist)
RE: "Cold, Cold Water"
"Another great song, Carey. Your songs have a very special plaintive sound that gets under you skin & into your blood. Keep writing and singing... your voice was made for the songs God has given you. Blessings forever!" -Sam McClain (Blues Recording Artist)
RE: "Breathe"
"...Carey Germana has not only mastered her style of music, but also has peaked the interest of industry leaders. This emerging artist is a true songwriter, able to project feelings in her lyrics and reflect great emotion that shows a tender side to Celtic music...Coming from Scottish, German and Welsh decent, her main genre is "blues/soul," but she has written and performed several songs that would be considered Celtic." -Karen J. Brady Celtic Music Website
PERFORMANCE REVIEWS:
"I'm a big blues lover and Carey's style appeals to me. Momma Thornton or Koko Taylor! The juxtaposition of the soft piano with Carey's beautiful and powerful voice is wonderful! Like an Axe coming down and splitting the piano in two. Carey has the audience transfixed when she performs." -Mike Welch (singer/songwriter)
"We are Bean Cup regulars, weekdays for coffee and just strolled in to see what jazz fusion Christian music sounded like. We had a great time & so did our 2 guests. We bought 2 demo cd’s & they worked fine. As demos, they don’t capture the essence of your voice but the lyrics & music come through just fine. When we walked in you mentioned that you do no covers – you perform music & lyrics you’ve written. That peaked my interest and forced me to listen very carefully. I frankly don’t consider music to be Christian music if the lyrics are not discernable. Well, I could hear and sense the Spirit in your lyrics and in your passionate delivery. You have been gifted by God & it’s a joy to see someone live out their giftedness." -Nick Milano (new fan)
"Carey Germana is the epitome of raw talent. The powerful songs, the beautifully strong voice, and the intuitive piano accompaniment make it apparent that God is working through this humble servant." - Greg O'Haver (singer/songwriter) of CROSSOVERroad
My younger brother, Paul Cooper, surprised me with a "YOUTUBE" video of my song "Breathe" (the raw version). It's VERY touching and would love to share it with you. By the way, the beautiful child in the video is his baby daughter, Abigail.

The Going...

Hebrews 11:1 and 8 have really struck me in Bible Study... My favorite part is vs. 8 that says Abraham "obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going" - I finally realized that faith...
