About Me

"Unfuckwithable..." writes Rolling Stone magazine, "... the most compelling arguement railing against the impoverished state of what is currently considered to be Rock'n'Roll."...""Everything Is Broken Always" is a forty-six minute and thirty-three second reason as to why Rock'n'Roll has such a tarnished reputation and equally as to why it shouldn't." Exclaims Spin Magazine...We are The Devil's Own and we are here to announce, firstly that the above statements are false and ficticious. Neither Rolling Stone nor Spin have even heard of us (yet). But if they did, that's pretty much what they should say. Neither here nor there. Brass Tacts: We've been going at this since January, 2003. We have since undergone many a personnel change. We have currently settled with the line-up to which you can see off to the left under "Band Members". We DO NOT subscribe or pander to any trends what-so-ever. We play what some would label as Alternative Country, Honky-Skronk, Insurgent Country, Americana, etc... We simply prefer to call it Honky-Tonk'n'Roll. The songs tend to be of the standard Country fair lyrically... You know, boy meets girl, boy fucks girl, boy realizes the error of his ways and drinks that shit right off. There are a few added curve balls and punches contained therein but other than that, it's a "write what you know" kinda deal.To our credit, we have shared the stage with many a great and talented bands and artists: I Can Lick Any Sonofabitch In the House, Motel Fresno, Carolyn Mark, Mojo Apostles, Mark Insley, Richmond Fontaine, Runaway Boys, Jackass, Plain High Drifters, Jeffrey Luck Lucas, Madera Road, Electric Boogie Dawgz, Porkchop Express, Slowfinger and many more. We have one self-released CD titled "Everything Is Broken Always" that you could buy off CDBaby or you could secure a copy for your very own at one of our shows. We'd love to play at your BBQ, wedding, truckstop dinner date ot at your local dive bar or low brow venue.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: thedevilsownmusic.com
Band Members: Piss Pissedoffherson (main vocal, rhythm guitar), Lightnin' Rob (lead guitar, backing vocal), Marcial Vasquez (bass guitar), Gentleman Smith (drum kit, out-of-tune air guitar)
Influences: It's difficult to pin down exactly what influences the songs of The Devil's Own. It isn't a list of bands, that's for sure. The songs tend to walk on the shadier side of the street where the bars and the hookers reside. Long nights stretched into longer mornings chasing benders with more benders. Songs with her name written all over them with blood-red lipstick and fragranted with perfumes of whiskey and sex. Reluctant confessionals that seek temporary or false redemptions. Exit fares in the shape of a woman. An exercise in seeing how many different ways one band can sing about the same thing over and over and over again.
Sounds Like: Just what you might expect a band of middle-aged whiskey-guzzlin', cigarette smokin', skirt chasin' do-no-gooders to sound like. Meaty, toothy Punked Up Countrified Rock'n'Fuckin'Roll like mama used to make.
