About Me

Born in Reykjavik, Iceland 1967. Started taking clarinet lessons at the age of 9, switched to saxophone and studied at FIH Music school in Reykjavik from 1983-1989. Studied at Berklee Collage of Music, Boston from 1989 and graduated in 1992 where I took lessons with among others; Joe Viola, Bill Pierce and George Garzone. I also studied privately with Jerry Bergonzi and Hal Crook during my time in Boston. During the winter of 1992/93 I relocated to New York City and studied with George Coleman and Joe Lovano. I moved back to Iceland in 1993 and have been teaching saxophone and jazz harmony in the FIH music school and Sigursveinn music school as well as working as a freelance musician. I'm member of the Reykjavik Big Band...
