Walter Casciani nace en Mendoza en el año 1958. Desde los 8 años incursiona en la música. Comenzando a estudiar instrumentos de vientos a los 12 en la Escuela de Música de Mza, clarinete ; para despues pasarse al estudio del saxofón con profesores privados. Su maestro desde el año 1991 fué PABLO KUSSELMAN hasta su muerte en el 2001. Con el se forma en saxo, instrumentación y arreglos e improvisación. Con Pablo y su esposa fundaron el CENIAC, centro de educación musical, que se mantuvo en actividad hasta la muerte del director. Desde entonces se dedica a la enseñanza privada y se desempeñacomo músico profesional.Actualmente integra el COLECTIVO TANGO sexteto de tango que explora fusiones del mismo con jazz y otros estilos. Dirige el ensamble de saxos CONTRAVIENTO, y desarrolla su actividad solista.A compartido escenario con : FATS FERNANDEZ, MEMPHIS LA BLUSERA, MIGUEL CANTILO, DAVID LEBON, LITO VITALE, BAGLIETO, LERNER, GIECO,S.MIHANOVICH. RAUL GARELLO, HORACIO FERRER, SUSANA RINALDI,RUBEN JUAREZ, CECILIA MILONE, GERARDO GANDINI, ENZO ROCCO, GEORGE HASLAM, BEATRIZ FORNAVAIO, TRIO NUEVA FINLANDIA, RICARDO FASSI,SELECCION NACIONAL DE TANGO, ULISES DUMONT, entre otros. Ha tocado en MONTEVIDEO, CHILE, ESPAÑA, ITALIA,(donde obtiene con el trío TRES ATRILES el premio BUSY MUSIC FRANCE por la originalidad en la interpretación de obras de Piazzolla, en la Octava Edición del Premio ASTOR PIAZZOLLA EN EL 2001.Walter Casciani is born in Mendoza in 1958.
