About Me

Welcome to our Dangerhouse Records archive page. Dangerhouse Records is one of The most collectible punk labels ever and also some of The best damn music there is out there! Dangerhouse released Only 15 records from July-August, 1977 - January, 1980. The Avengers and Alley Cats 7" ers were both released with two (2) different picture sleeves. Slight variations exist from release to release, such as a Small spindle hole vs. a Large spindle hole, Glossy or Not Glossy paper on the picture sleeve, etc. Dangerhouse was the originator of the 1/2 Back picture sleeve issued in a plastic bag. Although most Dangerhouse releases have the 1/2 Back sleeve, some copies have a Full Back picture sleeve, some even have full foldout gatefold sleeves, and in some cases like the Dils 7", which has a 2/3 back picture sleeve. Also, some releases were issued on various colored vinyls as well as Black vinyl. In all cases where colored vinyl was issued as well as Black for a certain release, Black vinyl is 1st press/came before colored vinyl, except for the case of the X 7" where 10 (Ten) Test Presses exist on Clear vinyl, and all other copies are Black. Some of the people that formed/helped run Dangerhouse Records played in several different Dangerhouse bands, for example: K.K. Barrett was in the Screamers, Black Randy & the Metrosquad, & the Randoms. David Brown was in the Screamers, Eyes, Black Randy & the Metrosquad, & Howard Werth. Pat Garrett(AKA Rand McNally, or Pat Rand) was in Black Randy & the Metrosquad, Randoms & the Dils. John Doe was in the Randoms, Black Randy & the Metrosquad as well as X. Tom Hughs was in Howard Werth & Black Randy & the Metrosquad. Joe Nanini was in the Eyes, Howard Werth, Black Randy & the Metrosquad, the Bags, and Wall of Voodoo. Joe Ramirez was in the Eyes & Black Randy & the Metrosquad. The recording studio that Dangerhouse used was known as Kitchen Sync.
