Pat Fear - guitar, vocals
Ken Stringfellow - bass, vocals
Chips K- guitar, vocals
Trace Element- drums, vocals.WHITE FLAG, seminal stalwarts of the Los Angeles California punk rock and roll scene, will embark on a brief tour of Germany and The Netherlands, in early March of 2008. This "tour", which seems to have sprouted up entirely around the band's long distance international treks to see Golden Earring perform in Utrecht March 5, and the reunion of the living members of The Zombies in London, March 8th.This tour, a continuation of the group's "25th Anniversary Magical Misery Tour," has taken the band to such unusual locations as Greenland, Iceland, The Faroe Islands, Alaska, and Finland. More European dates are planned for June and July, many with friends and fellow Southern Californians, The Adolescents. With a many faceted history that began in the small farm town of Sunnymead, California in 1982 White Flag has released 23 albums, singles and CD's, in countries as varied as South Africa, Japan and The Faroe Islands. The band had the honor of being the ONLY American group ever to play The Faroe Islands, as well the only U.S. band to play in Greenland, where White Flag headlined the annual Asiaat Nippia Rock Festival, north of the Arctic Circle. With their well known rotating roster of band members, this tour's line up includes: Pat Fear and Trace Element, (both of whom established the band in 1982), 12 year veteran Ken Stringfellow (p/k/a Kim Crimson), and 12 year veteran Chips K. (p/k/a El Swe),Other members of the "White Flag Army" who have recorded or toured as a member of the band (but are not performing on this tour) have included Hole's Eric Erlandson, Jeff Dahl Group and Adz member Bruce Duff, Javier Escovedo of legendary Los Angeles punk band The Zeros, and Rancid's Tim Armstrong.Aside from their infrequent record releases and tours with White Flag, the band members have a varied and colorful musical history.Pat Fear has worked as a songwriter and producer for such artists as Courtney Love's band Hole, NOFX, Pat Smear (of Nirvana/Foo Fighters and The Germs fame), The Go-Go's, Bangles, Redd Kross, Ace Frehley of KISS, and Swedish garage punk legends The Nomads.
He is also a technical advisor on the film "What We Do is Secret," starring "E.R." actor Shane West, and Bijou Phillips), as well as being a rodeo bull riding champion, vegetarian, and a member of PeTA.Kim Crimson, (under his real name of Ken Stringfellow) is a sought after producer, when not busy fronting his full time bands The Posies, and The Disciplines, is one forth of the revamped lineup of the legendary band Big Star, and tours as keyboardist for R.E.M.El Swe is a member of the popular Swedish band Sator, and is a well respected producer in Scandinavia, having worked on releases by The Hellacopters, The Nomads, and many others.White Flag has been hailed as "the forefathers of punk pop" in many countries in Europe (a moniker the band is quite embarrassed by...), due to their classic pop punk rock and roll songwriting, and trademark vocal harmonies. Applying those vocal abilities to hardcore fast paced punk rock music established the group as a unique force in the then bland landscape of punk rock in Southern California in 1982, though the group's sound has expanded to included more pop, rock and roll, Eastern influenced psychedelia, and gentle acoustic ballads over their quater century causing of musical havoc. The 2008 tour will continue to Western and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Australia and Japan, in support of their forthcoming full new album, the working title of which is "Wish You Were There"More information, including photos, discography, history, as well as videos (one featuring the late Kurt Cobain discussing the band on MTV Brazil) can be found at the group's official website:www.chaser.net/whiteflag

..SEPTEMBER 11 UPDATE:
Collectively we've decided that: bands asking to be our "friends" on MySpace who don't know a dang thing about White Flag, or don't have us listed in their influences (or mention us somewhere else in their own profiles )are just spamming every band for an add to promote their own group. While we FULLY appreciate the concept, and encourage you to do everything tasteful in your power to make your band known, we're bowing out of the process. MySpace has become a SPAM victim, and we won't approve any more hookers, businesses or actvities that don't have an inkling of who we are or what we're about. IF you're a band that really feels an affinity for us, and wants to be our friend, an email telling us something about how and when you became aware of White Flag, or a mention in your profile is the key to that door. Sorry to be cynical, but after asking numerous bands (and what are apparently prostitutes or unrelated business ventures) if they know ANYTHING about us and getting a negative reply, we've just made this decision, and we're happy with it. Best of luck to anyone who is in a band and wants to be successful.Pat Fear can be seen enjoying himself in 1982, (pre-mustache!) in a yellow t-shirt, right under the "ri" in the logo for "Fridays" at the end of this vintage clip!

Do you make interpretive films or music videos? Do you do animation? Weird stuff? Do you do them FOR FREE? Do Kenneth Anger, Art Clokey, Fantastic Planet, Land of the Lost, Lidsville, Metropolis, Russ Meyers, Head, Os Mutantes, The Residents, Philip K. Dick, and Star Rock all make sense to you? Want to make a music video for our forthcoming Japanese DVD? Re-read the above and focus on the 2 words in all capital letters. If you understand any or all of this, write us...To watch this little fun low rez re-edit of our actual made for t.v. video, follow these Orwellian Tron based draconian Three Laws of Videobotics: LAW 1) Wait a little while as the video "loads" , so it won't stop and start while trying to play AND load (this depends on the connection you have, so you may not need to do this part). The little bar at the bottom will show the loading process' progress, and you can click play after it has advanced a bit, or just REBEL and do it now, and hope for the best, but read LAW .. 2 first......You can read stuff or go get cookies or something while this happens, as it should only take a minute or two. LAW 2) STOP whatever song is already playing in the song window above, or you'll get crazy sounding stuff. Of course you may like the crazy stuff better, so do as thou wilt, (but your internet connection might not like streaming two things at once, and you thinking machine will defy the 3 Laws and just rebel and stop playing both of them...!) LAW 3) Then, CLICK THE "PLAY" ARROW FOR THE CURRENT VERSION OF THE CONSTANTLY CHANGING WHITE FLAG VIDEO! We re edit it every week or so. NOTE: If ithe image seems out of synch with the music/singing at times, it is an artefact of the You Tube system, not your computer! Technology will defeat man, destroy mankind, and von Neumann itself into infinity, but hopefully not this week.Full band history and detail at the band sitewww.chaser.net/whiteflagMOST RECENT NEWS as of March 2006: We're recording new stuff, releasing some Live in Italy record on some Italian label, working on above mentioned DVD, working on a label deal for Brazil, and planning for festivals in the summer.
