About Me

Kenneth B. Morris, Jr. is descended from two of the most important names in American history: he is the great-great-great grandson of Frederick Douglass and the great-great grandson of Booker T. Washington. This extraordinary lineage flows through the maternal side of his family by way of the union of his grandmother, Nettie Hancock Washington (granddaughter of Booker T. Washington), and his grandfather, Dr. Frederick Douglass III (great grandson of Frederick Douglass). When Ken's mother, Nettie Washington Douglass, was born she was the first to unite the bloodlines. Ken is the first male to do so.
Born June 9, 1962 in Washington D.C., Ken showed an early interest and a talent for performing. While in his teens, he was accepted as a member of the internationally acclaimed touring troupe, The Young Americans. He worked professionally in several stage productions throughout the years and was even featured on a nationally televised commercial. In the late eighties Ken toured with the R&B sensation Howard Hewett.
In 1990, together with a partner, Ken formed a marketing and entertainment firm. C&A Marketing would go on to become a leader in the field of corporate meetings and incentive travel developing customized marketing programs for major cruise lines and resort hotels. The products C&A created for its clients have generated hundreds of millions of dollars in business to date. C&A Marketing's entertainment division successfully produced business theater productions for major corporations such as Great West Life Assurance, London Life and Autozone to name a few. C&A Marketing continues to manage sales and marketing programs for several major cruise lines and resort hotels.
In line with his entertainment background, Ken has become an accomplished public speaker. His varied public appearances have included; large business presentations, show productions and keynote addresses to charitable organizations.
At this point in life Ken feels fortunate to be able to devote his time and energy to a cause like the Frederick Douglass Family Foundation. He believes he has an obligation to use the platform his ancestors have built, through struggle and through sacrifice, to stand up and fight to end the scourge of modern-day slavery. In addition to his duties at the FDFF, he contributes his talents to the board of directors for Kaleidoscope Arts Factory, a non-profit performing arts organization for children, the Booker T. Washington Family Committee and the Africa Global Partnership, Inc.
Ken Morris has a beautiful wife, Diana, and two beautiful daughters, Jenna and Nicole.

I'd like to meet:

As one of history’s most noted Abolitionists, Frederick Douglass dedicated himself to the cause of freedom and that of equality for every man and woman. The Frederick Douglass Family Foundation will continue the work of its prominent namesake by raising awareness of the enduring crisis of modern-day slavery wherever it may exist. Funds that are raised through grants, donations, appearance fees and the sale of merchandise will go to support organizations that are working to stop modern-day slavery and those assisting its victims.
