About Me

Created with mySpace Profile Editor
Roaring in from the steppes, the taiga and the tundra of Siberia, by way of the Caucacuses, Persia, Turkey, the Middle East, the Balkans, playing music of the people for the people, loudly, come:
The Tundrastic!!
The Steppmatic!!!!!
The Taiga - Taiga burning brightly!!!!!!
TRANS-SIBERIAN MARCH BAND!!!!!....mmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!
We play Balkan Ska, Klezmer reggae russo-mexican trumpet tunes, afghan love songs and ottoman battle marches.
and stuff like that!
Described in the press as the 'Sex Pistols' of Balkan Brass!... and 'punk-brass world-beat oddities' : Absolutely correct! And heres the next gigggggg
Its difficult to have wars, hate your neighbours, or practice the dishonesty that goes by the name of diplomacy when you are dancing!
Photo Credits (all the good ones!) Andy Forey, (cheers Andy) all others TSMB
Free prizes at our gigs for best Russian/former Soviet Union hats!
For example: Free ride in Lada Niva 4x4, colossus of the Siberian Steppes, 500gm Block of specially imported ‘Plumbir’ Ice cream (must eat while dancing), large blue West London Football Club, sorry only joking, bottle of peeva Baltica (beer!).
Time to dance!!!!
You could have danced with us Balkan Beats London (Buffalo Bar), Soviet Reunion (Cross Kings), Costa Urbana, World of Twist (Notting Hill Arts Club) and a few other places besides: Miles better than a normal set - just live, pulsating, visceral dance beats, played by the TSMB, with big bass, big percussion and extra terrestial solos on the horns and reeds followed by jamming to the DJ beats on the dance floor. If you have missed us so far you had better have a good excuse, otherwise its the 'naughty' list for you!!!!And we all know what the 'naughty' list means!!!!!!!!!. How will you survive, dear????
