NEW....VIBE LIVE event on the 20th MAY R.O.A.R (Rights Of Admission Reserved)...basically, no entrance to people younger than 21
The girl behind all this is Elizabeth C. Nott, an Italian-English Venezuelan born creature who was always fascinated by all kinds of music and instruments and all kinds of cultures. She learnt to play the piano, guitar, cuatro and recorder from a young age, but it was much later on in her life that she would take music more seriously. During the last two years of her degree in Ethnomusicology at SOAS (from 2003 to 2006), she focused on Arabic percussion taking lessons with Ahmed Mukthar. She has also taken lessons from Tim Garside, Hossam Ramzy and Ibrahim Al-Miniawi.
Apart from composing her own music at home Elizabeth teaches the piano and Arabic drums, colaborates with 'Nu' Balkan Gypsy Band Alejandro Toledo and the Magic Tombolinos (SEE VIDEO BELLOW) , North African rock band LUDOMIX, Kalia Baklizanaki (Nay, Voice), Khyam Allami (Oud) and Jonathan Staple (Guitar, Voice and Piano).
Elizabeth and Khyam Allami have recently put together a Trio of Arabic Music with the incredible cello player Shirley Smart. They have played already at The Tara Gallery as part of a Charity event for homeless Children in Iraq, and also at The Troubadour, Earls' Court, as part of Absinthe live music shows.
