What is particularly interesting is the use of the cimbasso, which enriches the ensemble with its timbre. The pieces of music are
arranged by the musicians themselves or are commissioned pieces by contemporary composers.

About the CD
"Stage Entrance"
… that's the artist's entrance situated at the backside of a theatre…and in our case the first recording of the Vienna Trombone
Ensemble. Since operas for five trombones are not yet available, the musicians decided to arrange more or less well known
works by themselves. Our repertoire includes arias, ballets, choirs, and interludes - from the operettas of Monteverdi to the film
music of John Williams - many musical epochs are represented and all the pieces are composed for the stage. The Film music has
to be seen as the temporary endpoint of music written for a storyline.
