"The music industry is no longer serving up art. They haven't for some time now, but it grows worse by the day. The fattest, easiest dollar is in the pocket of the AVERAGE American. That's who they target, but what they don't realize is.... I'm not average, you're not average. Blue Meridian is certainly not average. They are the quintessential starving artist, who have and will continue to sacrifice everything to forge ahead with writing, recording and bringing their act to crowds of any size. There are plenty of us left out there. Both those who create great original, thought provoking music and those who love listening to it. Save the Music That Still Matters. Support indie rock. It's what we have left". - Truman Joyner
REMEMBER... when you buy INDIE.. every penny goes to the band. So please Buy Our Music! and thanks

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: bluemeridian.net , donovanlyman.com
Band Members: Donovan Lyman. Lead Vocal. Rhythm Guitar. Piano. 1965 Buick Riviera. Telecaster, Fender, Matchless, Songwriter, Rickenbacker, Producer, Promoter, Lyricist, Arranger, Designer, Manager, Lovable Dictator, Emancipator. Richard Pryor & Neil Diamond impressions. Beatles, Costello, Tragically Hip. Loves golfing, Golden Tee, finding golf balls. Spends too much time on the net getting the word out. Makes cats talk. Collects rare vintage concert shirts and sweats profusely onstage in them. Likes taking pictures. Hates using flash. Likes being flashed. Likes Cuban, Italian & Mexican food, but hates cilantro and black jelly beans. Favorite band moment: When the Hard Rock Cafe phoned and asked if they could buy one of my guitars to display. That was a shiny day.

Chadwick Steinmetz, Lead Guitar. Corvette, Telecaster, Les Paul, Marshall, Harmonies. Is fascinated with the radically ambiguous and ceaselessly flowing nature of the universe and how his experience of life is but one fiber meticulously woven into its fabric... "Change in all aspects of existence seems to be the only true constant.." The words "love" and "Gratitude" are tattooed on his right forearm to remind him to lead with love and be truly grateful for each moment and each new opportunity to breathe in the mystery and wonder of simply being...Favorite band moments: The moments that no fan ever sees, specifically those that involve the interactions of the 4 members when alone together.. "We laugh a lot and are comfortable enough around each other to be who we truly are inside. For better or worse George, Donovan and Scott are 3 of my closest friends... But Not necessarily in that order.. LOL =;^] "

George Castells, Bass & Back-up Vox. Music Man Bass. Ampeg Amplification. Honda Element. Bilingual. Resident band clown. Listens to anything from Abba to Zebrahead. When not onstage determined to master the golf swing. Able to tolerate extremely spicy foods. Pretty damn good dancer. In fact, if Blue Meridian ever has a shot of entering a band member in Dancing with the Stars, he's their best bet. Favorite Blue Meridian moment: "Playing The Cavern Club where The Beatles got their start was pretty f'n cool!"

Scott Kinworthy, Drums, skins, sticks. brushes. Ducati Motorcycle. LUDWIG. Sabian. Resident band brawler. Listens to Beethoven and Carl Orf. When not on stage is determined to master his left hook. Able to tolerate extremely spicy food better than George. Can moonwalk his ass off. And doesn't take shit. Is also an actor & a Blue Man. Has performed in nearly every major city in America. Favorite band moment is the first song of every rock set.

and a variety of other players, which rotate depending on the show and venue. Cello, Violin, Banjo, Brass, Mandolin, Go-Go Dancers, etc.

Influences: Lennon & McCartney, John & Taupin, Bacharach & David, Dozier & Holland, Jimmy Webb, Brian Wilson, Joe Jackson, Partridge & Moulding, Paul Simon, Strummer & Jones, Costello and Sting.
