Band Members: My name is Dave Marris. Most of my songs are over 25 years old, but I think some of them have aged ok. They were (poorly) recorded on a 4 track porta-studio, a Tascam 244. After a few years I noticed the master tapes were in a poor condition having been stored in a cold/damp place. If you listen closely on some of the tracks you can hear some of the instruments fade in and out and there's a loss of clarity.About 10 years ago I copied them onto my computer hard drive to try and preserve them, at which time I re-EQ'ed them and thus we have what you hear today. I have no real musical style or pigeon hole e.g. some of the songs are a bit Pink Floyd like, old style Rock, Pop, Ballads and there is even a couple of reggae tracks. I don't think I was looking for a musical style I was just writing songs.All the instruments are played by me but the drums are not real they are a drum machine. Which is the only thing on all the songs which wasn't played by hand i.e. there are no sequencers used. I have chosen more instrumental type songs to upload so you don't have to suffer my less than brilliant singing voice to much. Instead you have to suffer over long guitar solo's. The reggae song (Soldier put that gun down) has lead vocals by a dear old friend of mine called John Thackery who braved my cold damp cellar to sing the lead vocal on a lot of my old songs. Thanks John, were ever you are now.What ever people may think of my songs, I like to think back to the time when I wrote them and enjoy the nostalgia of them.
