Now a little about myself......I have been into music all my life. From the time my mama started buying me records and my aunt Debbie brought me 45’s. I have been in love with it. There have been times when I became disillusioned and turned away from it. But, I always find myself back here. Music has always helped me get through. In 2004, an incident took place and music was my lifeline. I had amputated music from my life. Couldn’t bear to have a guitar in the house. And I would intentionally not listen to music on the radio. I wanted it gone. But, then, as life can sometimes do. I was knocked down by something tragic. May 27th 2004, marked a beginning of one of the many deaths that would happen around me to date. Abby Marie Heinz Maxwell, an ex-fiancee’, passed from ovarian cancer at the age of 37. Leaving behind children and a loving husband. She and I had unfinished business. I needed to self medicate. And so music was my outlet. My medicine. My drug. Years ago, whiskey was my weakness of sorts. And I have fought for it not to be again since. Anyway. I turned to writing again and I haven’t stopped. The songs say what I cannot say to them, you or anyone with comfort. I hope you find something in my words. You don’t have to like the guitar work. You don’t have to like the voice. But, I hope the words touch you personally in some way. Wherever Abby is; I know she is smiling. And she continues on.
