From conception Luna’s Lament have had a morbid array of musicians with influences ranging from TOOL, Opeth, Sabbath,Pink Floyd,Alice in Chains,King Crimson, Mars volta,Godsmack, and more. With all original material, this band is a breath of fresh air for the rock and metal genre. From the Carolinas, drummer Matt [The MAdman) Deese, and female guitarist Kimniption formed the band back in the spring of 2005. Since then they have gone through some member changes. The two refused to give up their search and soon found vocalist -Canadian John Paul (aka Ziggy).
A few bass players later, they met up with Ryan Joffe. Ryan contributes a jazz like style mixed with some metal.The vocal harmonies in this foursome can be spinechilling(in a good way) .
Luna’s Lament recently won an award for BEST HARD ROCK BAND in THE CHARLOTTE MUSIC AWARDS WOMEN IN MUSIC SHOWCASE 08’. Competed in THE BODOG BATTLE OF BANDS back in 2006. they made it to finals in ATLANTA ga. This placed them in the top 12 out of 500 bands. 3 of their songs have been played( a bunch) on local radion station 106.5 WEND.
With Matt’s hammering the skins and off beat style like that of Danny Carey, the chunked out rhythms of Kimniption’s gunslinging ax, Ziggy’s melodic raspy vocals,and the jazz like low end of Ryan’s bass, Luna’s Lament have formed a sound all their own..SEND EMAIL TO:
