As word of "Carolina Sessions" has gotten around, there has been much interest from local artists. I would like to meet even more. Music is LIFE!
When things get rolling, I will probably set up a means to accept submissions from bands that might want to appear on the show. More on this topic when the time comes.
I do not intend on making this a "Pay to Play" situation. The bands that appear on the show will not have to pay for the exposure. By the same token, I will not be able to pay the bands to be on the show. What I can offer is a possible audience as large 2.2 million. An opportunity to get their contact information, website(s), CD/mp3 download info, booking info, where fans can purchase band merchandise, etc.
For this show to get off the ground, sponsors and advertisers are needed. So I guess I must add that I would like to meet serious people who are interested in advertising on/sponsoring "Carolina Sessions". Media kits will be put together very soon. I plan on offering advertising/sponsor packages similar to those used on "Sportsnight" will be available shortly. The packages will range from from Title Sponsor and Segment Sponsor packages all the way to packages that small upstarts and "Mom & Pop" type of businesses can easily afford (Currently with Sportsnight we have advertising packages starting for as little as $200/month. That is less than radio and print advertising especially to hit an area and population as large as this TV show. It is certainly more reasonable than any other TV advertising you will find!)
Finally, I'd like to meet all you music fans out there. You are why these musicians, songwriters, artists do what they do. You are a big reason why I am doing what I am trying to do. Music is life. Music is the universal language, Music soothes the savage beast. I can go on forever but my point is that there is so many positive things about music. Let's let it grow.
Case in point, how many times have you heard a song and it brought you to another time in your life? A time that was special to you, a turning point in your life, a special person, a special place, where you could see it in your mind like a photograph and smell it like it was right there in front of you and it brought a smile to your face or a tear to your eye? That is the power of music. It inspires, it empowers, it unites, it brings back memories. THAT is what music is all about, evoking some kind of emotion in EVERYBODY.
