PAWS is a non profit organisation that exists to help educate people about animal rights, and provide a community resource for people of all ages and walks of life.
At PAWS we believe that all animals that exist on this planet should be afforded the right to a life free from human inflicted suffering and pain. Here, we work to integrate these principles in how we operate.
The PAWS centre is located at 112 - 114 Beaufort Street, about five minutes walk from Perth train station. We encourage people to drop by - the internet cafe and store is open Tuesday through to Friday from 10am to 5pm, and on Saturday from 10am to 2pm.
Saturdays - Fresh Organic produce on sale from 10am, followed by a vegan lunch from 12.

Monday, January 28th
Long time no update! Forum coming soon on the Paws website, and we're working on approving restaurants around Perth so that you can get good veg*n meals at them without worrying if there's chicken stock in the food.
Also a new blog up - Vegan/Alternative/Perth

Monday night dinners have been moved to Saturday - 12 noon.
We are also commencing sale of fresh certified local organic produce from 10am on Saturdays - if you thought you were minimising your carbon footprint enough by being vegan/vegetarian, think again. Local and organic produce is where it's at. Dig in!

These past few days we had a representative of PETA with us, Jodi. She came to help direct some activist work and hang out. A lovely lady, she's now left and will be missed until the next time she decides to stop by.
Another reminder - everyone should drop by on Monday from 7pm. We have food =D

Today, vegans unite had a get together with members from PAWS at Wendy's house. Thanks to all the lovely people who brought the delicious food. You can see some pictures here .

This Monday was convert-a-carnivore evening, and it went down a treat. With our new cooking facilities we were able to cater to the increased number of hungry people, and everything went smoothly.

The current song is called Cobrastyle by Robyn . Basically just a fun, upbeat electro song. I haven't really bothered to decipher the lyrics because one does not listen to Robyn for lyrical depth.

Tokyo Police Club - anything! Any EP, demo etc. The tokyo police club are a fun indie/art rock band.
And read Less than Zero by Bret Easton Ellis. A disturbing novel about a young boy's return to his rich californian home for the summer break and the effects of drugs, sex and too much money at too young an age.
Sunday, October 7th
The album "Bring me the Workhorse" by My Brightest Diamond - brilliant mix of rock, classical, jazz, cabaret and experimental genres.
The novel Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood. Portrays a possible future - severely dystopic in nature - that is a projection of current trends in our society. Focusses on issues like genetic manipulation of both people and animals, pollution and class division.
