Coanhadeira

As“coanhadeiras” eran nalgunhas zonas, as persoas, encarregadas de recoller os restos da malla na aira para aproveitalos. O mesmo nome se lle aplica ao instrumento (vasoira) empregado. Esta Coanhadeira musical nace en Ourense fai aproximadamente un ano, como un proxecto mais dos que recollen os restos da malla que sofre a nosa cultura musical, (mais aínda se cadra aquí en Ourense) “restos”, dende logo moi aproveitables.Xurde primeiro como grupo de “gaiteiros”, partindo dunha base eminentemente tradicional, tanto na formación como nos “escearios” recorridos: festas, romarías e demais eventos lúdico-musicais.A transformación e a adaptación se cadra están na mesma base da tradición, mais este principio non é sempre ben interpretado. No noso caso, a formación clásica dalgún de nós e a experiencia no eido da música tradicional e folc , doutros, mixturanse coas inevitabeis e insconcentes influenzas musicais actuais, con instrumentos “non tradicionais”, e sérvese cun claro sentimento de pertenza a unha cultura diferenciada, demasiado rica e valiosa como para renunciar ás súas peculiaridades, e sen necesidade doutros “engadidos” . De ahí que a etiqueta de “música en galego” sexa escollida polos membros para definir o estilo musical do grupo. De ahí que nesta nova andaina optaramos tamén por mante-lo nome orixinario do grupo, que se distancia , dende logo do que sería un nome “comercial” segundo os estándares actuais. Oxalá as nosas músicas vos soen a galego, e vos entreteñan un rato. Eso é o único que pretendemos.---------------------In some parts of Galicia, "Coanhadeiras" were called those persons who were in charge of gathering the remains of milling to make good use of them. Coanhadeira was also the name of the instrument used to do the same work. This “musical coanhadeira”, we are introducing you now, was born in Ourense (Galicia) around a year ago. It was thought as a project that took the leftovers in our musical culture, of course, these leftovers are very usable.In the beginning coanhadeira came up as a “traditional pipers group”, and these first steps were greatly influenced by the Galician traditional music owing to musical education of the group members, as well as that, there have been an extensive participation in celebrations, and popular events.The transformation and adaptation of coanhadeira is still based on traditional music, but this question is not always well interpreted. Nowadays, coanhadeira has gotten to involve the classical music education of some of us with the experience in folk and traditional music from other members of the group. Everything mixed with current music influences and “no traditional instruments” and served with a clear felling to belong to a differentiate culture, too rich and valuable that it cannot resign its own special characteristics. It does not need others added.For that reason the label of “music in galego” is chosen by the members to define the musical style of the group. “Music in galician way”, maybe is the better translaction, because it doesn..t mean only “galician music”),. It has been the reason because of we decided to keep the original name of the group, too. “Coanhadeira” is no a commercial name, according to the current standards. We hope our music sounds galego to you and it keeps you entertained.
