Now playing: Irisdj
My name is Raquel but my artistic one is Iris Dee Jay. I started producing in 1999 when my father bough my first computer and I got involved with pc’s. I began checking some old trackers but then I found out the well known sequencers (Logic Audio, FL Studio...) and I couldn't leave my passion for producing. My first tune was called First Project and it was a total disaster but the begining helped me to learn many things about music production since then. I started buying some music production magazines to learn more and more about samples, hardware, vst's and whatever thing related to music. My first big dream was becoming a dance singer. I usually listened to 90's eurodance bands like ICE MC, Alexia, 2 Colors, DJ Bobo... and really wanted to be like them all. This is the reason why I began to get information about repitching software but, despite all the stuff available in the software stores, I never became a good singer so I decided to spend all my time just in producing. In 2003 I made a track called 'Eternal Awareness' (now 'Eternal Awareness 2007' ) that was success on the net. I even sent it to the magazine Computer Music (the one I usually read) and 'Eternal' was chosen to be released on this magazine's cd. I got the chance to meet many musicians thanks of this releasing and I visited some music forums for the first time in my life. From this moment on I began to make collaborations. My music wasn't the best, but I was happy working this way. In 2004 my track 'Feel It Alive' was chosen to be released on a cheap compilation that was made to be sold only in my town. It wasn't a big project but it was worth despite, finally, this compilation never was released. Despite I lived many disapointments as a producer, I never couldn't give the music up so my last step was becoming a dj to promote my tracks. Thanks of this, I got in contact with my singer, Jaana Paalonen (Maria Opale in 'Falling', 'Too Late', 'Aurora Polaris', 'Come 2 Me' and many more in the near future! In 2006 I signed the most important record deal in my life: The releasing of the ep “Abrente†in Deepblue Records (Solarstone’s record label) under the aliase of D-Air (formation teamed by Darren Waves and myself). I created the main melody of the track ‘Iris’, created by the trance formation from Madrid J.J. Project in 2005. This tune was released on vinyl by the old important label King Records, house of the famous house djs Dimas and Martinez or Simon and Shaker. After spending 3 years playing in small clubs in my town, I think it’s time for a change, time to meet new people and see how trance is going all around the world! In this moment I’m promoting myself as a trance/house dj. My tracks are getting ready for the dancefloors moving my style from trance to house, bur never forgetting trance. The bpm I’m using is lower but rhythms and basses are stronger. While djing, I've signed some tracks in the digital record label Total Wipes also. Now I’m producing for Ocean Drive Records. Releasing in mp3 format isn't my dream but, good or bad, is the future and future is now! It's hard to brief so many things in only some lines but music is a long career full of happiness and dissapointments aswel. Anyway, here I go!...
