XKollective
We are a London based Breaktronica squad. Our sound is tough, tuneful and optimistic. We mix breaks and beats with dubby bass, hypnotic tablas, heavy guitars, soulful vocals and spoken word.

Anyone who likes Asian dance music will love this and the way it combines some dark beats (‘Serene Smile') with pure positive happy vibes (‘Electric Flowers') makes it all the more tasteful. The essence of what makes so much on here work is Xfile being a technically solid producer, developing sounds rather than picking them from a preset basket. Aref Durvesh, who has worked with nearly all the top Asian underground groups very rarely puts a step wrong and the back up cast of singers and rappers merely add to the flavours. ‘Electric Flowers' gets a strong 8 out of 10!!!!

Roll on the summer tunes and music that gets you in the mood for beach barbeques, bonfires and full moon parties. ‘Ultrastate’ on the Electric Flowers LP by London based breaktronica squad Xkollective, does just this and for me is the first song of the summer.
The vocals are soulful and with lyrics like: ‘I’m free, I’m beautiful, I’m chic’ you can’t help but feel optimistic.

XKollective's Electric Flowers is a surprisingly good and unexpected range of funky and mesmerizing tracks that can work as a daily soundtrack-- whether you're at home relaxing or out on the town.
Evolution of Media
Deep beats and electronica fuse effortlessly with real world organica (OK, I made that bit up), and you’ve got an intense blessed out sound that works as well on the dance floor, or the living room floor.

This is the perfect soundtrack to the pulse of the city of London, borrowing and remashing (Ableton and Pro Tools) breaks, tablas performances, hypnotic loops, dubby bass lines and delays and both male and female spoken word and sung vocals, ranging in style from the drum'n'bass-type MCing and urban cityscape hip hop to soulful black singing. This is a great example of global downtempo music with organic sounds over a bed of relaxing programmed music: positive-thinking, happy, relaxing and at times funky!Marc Urselli-Schaerer

Our influences range from Breaks, Bashment, Hip Hop and Dub to Indian classical.
We are getting support from Bobby Friction and Nihal - Pathaan- Genetic DruGs and Bazna radio - Thanks and respect.
Big up to Latrama and his gorgeous remix of Snakecharmer, Pathaan has been playing it on his show Pathaans musical rickshaw
