HI,i'm Paulo Silva.I'm a professional drummer, percussionist,singer and composer from SALVADOR DA BAHIA -BRAZIL. I've studied for 11 years in the music school of UFBA (Federal University of Bahia) in Salvador. I've been 4 years in the graduation of this university and studied there for over 10 years. I played for 8 years as a guest in the brass band and the school's orchestra, and also did a lot of chamber music.Besides, I played a lot of drums and percussion with several artists in Salvador(Bahia-Brazil) in such styles like Samba, Afrobrazilan Music, Rock, Soul, Funk, World Music. I also composed with two more colleagues the soundtrack of the 25 years of Bale do Teatro Castro Alves(the greatest ballet in Salvador)and performed 3 days with this ballet(for this celebration) in the main hall of the Teatro Castro Alves.In 2004-2005 I studied jazz drums with Michael Kuettner in the scholarship program in the Musikhochschule Mannheim(Germany).I used to sing in some free lancer projetcs and bands in Salvador.
I also have some experience in teaching children, blind people and mentally disturbed people. Moreover,i've given private classes.I also recorded the last album of the renowned American frame drummer, Layne Redmond and I play in her group : Sudaryalahary(please check the website: www.layneredmond.com ).
I'm now living in VIGO(SPAIN)and open to musical contacts in such styles as well as classical music,rock,samba,world music and whatever comes around!i..m open to good quality music!
