I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

On a mission to see and hear as many local (Cincinnati area) bands/musicians as I can in this lifetime. My goal is to make the rest of the world aware that the best music comes from right here! "Local" music means OHIO, KENTUCKY and Indiana. I'll add you and/or your band if: 1. You're from Oh, Ky or In. 2. If you're an indie band from another part of the country who (fairly) regularly plays in the Cincinnati area, and has a following here. 3. If you're a national act or a blast from the past that I personally consider good enough to play alongside our locals. If you don't fit one of those categories, and you still want to be my friend, you'll have to convince me. Good luck!

My Interests

Local music, art, connecting with interesting and talented people (hoping some of that talent rubs off), Reading, writing.

I'd like to meet:

I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

Music:

Local, local local! All genres - I'm not a "music snob" ! Danny Frazier, Kenny Cowden, Bob Cushing, G. and the HPO, The Walker Project, Messerly and Ewing, Stash, Robin lacy and DeZydeco, Sonny Moorman....and on, and on.

Movies:

Casablanca (best movie ever made - hands down!), Forrest Gump, Field of Dreams.

Television:

IF I had cable, I MIGHT watch A&E, Discovery, HGTV. But I don't have cable, and unless there's a national crisis, the tv stays OFF.

Books:

Anything by Elizabeth Goudge, Biographies, histories, and anything by Truman Capote.

Heroes:

Gandhi, Bob Geldof, FDNY, this list could go on indefinitely.

My Blog

Are you out of your mind?????

Yesterday, I got a friend request from a 20-yr old guy. I looked at his profile, and tried to read it, but the background was so busy, I gave up. I did manage to make out the words "music" and "band" ...

Why I am NOT Cool.....

It's no big secret that I LOVE music. I really don't care whether or not it's original - just as long as it's done well. In some circles, this makes me very un-cool. So be it. I'll give y'all a l...

Take THAT, John Mayer!

I have to admit, I'm not a particularly big fan of John Mayer. I can take him or leave him. But I did find myself humming along to "Waiting On the World to Change" - until I actually listened to the l...

Goodbye Robin and Brian....

I had, at most, a nodding acquaintance with Robin Broxterman and Brian Schira. They and their fellow Colerain firefighters were in the Northgate Kroger nearly every day. I work in the customer service...

I finally have time to schedule my midlife crisis. It will be at the Southgate House on Friday, at the Dicks Rock Fest. Very appropriate, no? I’m going on a scavenger hunt for the guy who posed ...

Old lady clothes.....

I like to think that, for an old broad, I dress pretty stylishly. However, lately, I've noticed myself doing something that disturbs me....I've actually been browsing the racks of Alfred Dunner and Sa...

Something disturbing at Northside Tavern......

I love Northside Tavern. Hell, I love Northside! But recently, something's been bothering me. Over against the wall by the first tables, there's an Elvis shrine. Which is cool. Elvis deserves a shrin...

Ahhh...Youth!

I work with a lot of young-uns.  Teenagers (gag!) and 20-somethings. With a very few notable exceptions (you know who you are - and I love you!), they are the whiniest, most unhappy people I know...
