After growing up about as far into nowhere as possible, I quickly left town after graduating h.s. Moved to college at Texas A&M University - Commerce. Took private lessons from Paul Rennick (of Univ of North Texas) while I was there. Left school to go on drum corps tour and travelled after two summers of working in a paper mill. Stayed in Milwaukee for a bit. Lived (and partied) in Dallas and around Texas for several years afterwards. Now I'm in Cincinnati, thinking about what the next city should be. I'm thinking somewhere in Florida, or maybe Boston. Austin could be cool, too. Realistically, though, I'll probably be in Lexington by the end of the year.
I drum in a few different bands. The main ones are Rusty Van Band (drumset) which is a jam band with some reggae and bluegrass feel. RVB hosts a big festival every year called The Wang Dang Doodle Music Festival . Three days and two nights of camping and music.
I have been really enjoying being able to drum with Mister Creeper (roots/dancehall/dub reggae with a bit of Drum n Bass thrown in). Creeper is interesting because it's taking everything I've learned about music and turning it upside down.
Accidental Seperatist Movement was my weekly thing for about 2 years. It's mostly covers, but we take them and turn them into a tribal hand drum jam sort of thing. It's been defunct for over a year now. The comeback is constantly debated.
They all have myspace pages in my friends list, so CHECK THEM OUT!
I also dabble with DJing. I like the feel of vinyl. I have some hip hop and a lot of house music. Been playing VDrums with a church band on sundays recently. Before that I ran sound for a church service for 3 years. If you can find a place more difficult to mix sound then at a church, please let me know.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Peace Bitches!

a tear, a cheer, and hope

Brett Favre retired today. I use "today" loosely. I just got home from work and it was actually yesterday. In years past, the extended months of waiting to see just seemed overly dramatic, as I did...
