This is the part where I discribe the music of TWICE AS DEEP (also called TAD).
I suggest you just take a listen.
Using words for something that has to be experienced is always going to fall short. Trying to tell someone, or write about, what a food tastes like just does not hit the mark. Just give them a bite! Let them see if they like it or not!
But if you insist...
On the surface TAD is a multi-cultural group of guys overcoming racial, age, and even denominatioanal barriers to make music. Music that is for the Creator and Savior of the world, for His people, and for those souls seeking for a purpose in life. Blending their musical backgrounds and influences for the Glory of God, TAD is taking ground upon the enemy’s territory in these days of uncertainty. Waring in the Spirit. Contending for the Faith. Fighting the good fight. This is what these boys were created to do!
Where many "Christian artists" fall short these days in depth or purpose of their songs, TAD steps up and is a breath of fresh air to the soul. With lyrics that have a message that do not need de-coding, yet are deep enough to engage the theologion in all of us, they are striving to take the listener "twice as deep" into worship and praise and yet still they manage to keep it listener friendly! Catchy guitars, driving drums, and vocal melodies that are sure to run laps in your head, are the norm from TAD, but they aren’t out to simply entertain you.
"It’s not a show for us," says singer-songwriter of the group Jeremiah Womack, "for me, music has always been a message with a mission, even when I was playing for the world. Once I gave my life to Christ and started living for Him, I found what I was looking for in music all along. I could never go back to simply entertaining people. Don’t get me wrong though, if the worship or message is good it will still be entertaining. That is what TWICE AS DEEP is about"
This is obvious when you see TAD in action. They aren’t doing back flips off of equipment or playing guitars behind their backs. What they are doing is ministering to the Creator. Something that seems to be missing in most of "Christian music" these days.
"We just wanna worship," says drummer Gerardo "Fish" Salmeron, and that is just one thing these boys do with a passion and skill that can only be experienced.
So come on and "take a bite" of TWICE AS DEEP. See if you like it.
They, and many others, think you will like what you hear!
