Biblical Films is a film company made by a Christian family (Lamont A. Coleman, Rosemarie Smith-Coleman & Daniel Smith-Coleman) who were determined to make quality films and shorts inspired by Bible stories and Christian ethics.
This family began producing plays in 1996 with their first production, Oedipus and the Gospel at Colonus. This Christian Musical, which was inspired by the Greek story "Oedipus Rex", was a huge success at West Angeles Church of God in Christ and the Christian community. After Oedipus, the Coleman family decided to open their own theater company (COLSAC) which they did through the grace of God. They served the acting community for 10 years after realizing that theater was not what The Coleman's came to Hollywood for. After walking this path for ten years, The Coleman's finally decided to take their lives to the next level.
In addition to starting Biblical Films, they put the secular world of COLSAC on hold and also began Christian Productions, a Christian touring company with the goal of spreading the gospel throughout the world. Together Biblical Films & Christian Productions plan on enlarging the Christian community by "bringing more souls to Christ", as Lamont would say, through the entertainment industry.
Biblical Films' first project is the Governor Series. Governor is about a boy who grew up in the struggle of racism and hatred. After watching two men and the local sheriff kill his parents, young Lamont Maxwell's innocence become corrupted with evil and hatred. He struggles with it by becoming a pastor and having a family of a wife and two kids. Everything changes for the bad when Maxwell decides to run for politics. Once elected Lt. Governor his life changes dramatically. He turns his back on God and divorces his faithful wife Florence to marry an office flirt which leads to Florence's destruction. His two sons, Jonathan and Luke emerge from this twisted life corrupted with evil.
It isn't late before Luke discovers the power and guidance of Christ and not only tries to save himself but his brother and father as well. We all know Christ will prevail, but will it be too late for the Maxwell Family?? Find out for yourself!
